I'm sorry I have been so pants!

Hey everyone, ok I need to firstly start off by apologising and begging for your forgiveness so I am so very sorry for my absence. Unfortunately I haven't been able to resume my blogging duties for a few weeks because I have been very busy with finishing school and finishing exams ect ect blah blah blah. However expect a few good posts and some goodies throughout the summer, including work make-up, festival party outfit/how to decorate the party/make-up and also some holiday snaps and just little updates about what I did/outfits I wore ect. I promise everyone I will post more and that they'll be amazing throughout this summer! I'm very sorry again, I love you all and hope your summer has gone off to a good start. The Women's guide to the Worldcup: surviving an England game

Ladies its that time again, it's comes round every 4 years and for many its a month of pure exhilaration and an insane adrenalin rush, but for us ladies (me excluded, sorry I am betraying you all) it is an awful sweaty and loud mess of a month, fortunately one of your own is here to help your survive this crazy time, whether it's to please your boyfriend, bond with your dad or shut your husband up I am here to make it a happy and exciting time for everyone.

Now, we all know what men are like when it comes to England and football, supporting their country is almost as important as paying their car insurance, sometimes even as important as you are to them (for just 90 mins only don't worry) so why not join them? We all need to understand the lingo, I'm not saying you need to Google the offside rule and spend endless hours trying to understand which ones the defender and which ones the attacker but it would be good to impress said person if they hear you getting involved, here's some tried and tested phrases to slip into conversations where necessary:

1) "Roy's going for some new tack-ticks": Roy Hodgson is the England manager and this is just referring to the fact he has brought some younger players (such as Ross Barkley) and new faces (such as Adam lallana) instead of choosing some players who have a lot more experience (such as Ashley Cole). This phrase is great to bring up just before the start of an England game when the line-ups are being announced, this shows them that you're paying attention and care enough to understand what is going on.

2) "We need to bring on a fresh pair of legs": This simply refers to the fact that you think a substitute player should come on. This phrase is great to use after half-time when no substitutions have been made and England need to liven up the game a bit more so they can have chances and score from them.

3) "That Daniel Welbeck is pants": Despite playing for Manchester united and being classed as one of England's up and coming stars he is to many people very overrated and should'nt be allowed to be chosen over players such as Raheem sterling (another good phrase to add in when using this one). This is good to use when ever he has the ball, unless he scores and or sets someone else up for the goal its a great way to make said person chuckle.

4) "Joe Hart, safe hands": Joe Hart if you didn't know already is the England no.1 goalkeeper, for us ladies he is a beautiful site to see indeed and its worth watching the game just to see his gorgeous face grace the television screen. This phrase is great to use when the other team try's to score and Joe has made an epic save (when he has caught it not punched it away).

5) " Stevie can carry the team": Now i'm sure you all know who Steven Gerrard is, the scouse bad boy is thankfully the captain of our beloved England squad and does a bloody good job of it too! This phrase is good to bring up before any England game (though don't repeat it before every one!) it just shows that you know he has the credentials to lead the team to victory.

Hope this help girlies, don't worry we can all get through this month just brace yourself! Also quick note don't worry the fake tanning is going well! Ill be doing a blog post soon as I can.

Love and hugs, Aimee xoxo

The Fake tan diaries: the calm before the storm

Its about time I started the old fake tan routine, unfortunately the only time I have ever worn fake tan I came out more orange than a tangerine and probably smelling like my tin of digestive biscuits. Fortunately for scientific research and for blogging material I have decided to dive right into the glorious world of fake tan and gorgeously bronzed skin. In other words I am going to be trying out a fake tanning product (or two) to break the bad fake tan tradition and to come out looking like i've spent a few weeks in the Costa del Sol soaking up the mediterranean sun.

The prospect of using fake tan scares me, however I think as long as I stick by the fake tanning rules I am going to come out of this experience unscathed. So what are the real fake tanning rules?(and or tips and tricks of the trade)

1) shower beforehand: I have been told showering beforehand is the best thing you can do because you need to wash the dirt off your body and make sure you have a clean canvas so to speak. In the shower you must exfoliate your whole body too, this may seem strange but you must do this because you need to take the dead skin cells off your body so the fake tan doesn't stick to these parts as it will be overpopulated in these areas leading to darker parts on your body compared to very light parts; In other words it will be patchy!

2) Moisturise: I often moisturise my whole body when I come out of the shower anyway so it comes as second nature to me, but you must make sure (and this is an important one) that you moisturise your elbows and knees too which are often very dry on your body and can cause the fake tan to again stick to them more; we need to stop this patchiness instantly!

3) Vaseline: This is your best friend, it may sound stupid but this will also stop patchiness in areas too as this is a very nourishing product and can be used on the face also (but make sure the fake tan can be used on your face of course, we don't want any allergic reactions, that wouldn't be attractive!)

Well, wish me luck I am definitely going to need it, and I hope you join me on my journey for the best bronzed skin the world has ever seen, or my house hold has ever seen anyway. love and hugs, Aimee xox

My revision survival kit and Beauty tips

Being an A-level student I have entered the exam and revision zone, unfortunately for many of us this involves crying, eating lots of crap food and not actually learning anything because of the immense stress! However, recently I have come out with a sure fire way to get your head in gear and actually learn something for our up and coming all important exams!

1) Wake up early! whether this means on the weekend or when you're on study leave you need to make sure you wake up early so you can start your day right, if you wake up early (yes 9-10 o'clock is a fair time!) then you can get a lot done in the morning so you can have a break in the afternoon. You won't miss out on the all important morning programmes (there is such thing as catch up TV nowadays) and you can sit down with a cuppa at any time, trust me it pays off.

2) Make time for breakfast: start with a good hearty breakfast such as pancakes, porridge and mixed fruit or my favourite a good ol'bowl of Weetabix with banana slices. You won't regret taking some extra time for breakfast, study shows that a good hearty breakfast will stop you from over snacking during the day plus it will give you the energy you need to keep working into the early hours of the evening.

3) Put some clothes on: This sounds like a silly one, but many of us don't bother getting ready and remain in our PJ's all day, unfortunately this is not the motivation you need as it make you feel too comfortable and sluggish, not to mention you might smell a bit! After breakfast have a shower and slip into something like joggers and a baggy t-shirt you will feel refreshed and ready to take on your revision for the day.

4) Prepare yourself with some snacks: Make a box or bag of your favourite sweet and savoury things, then add a few bits of fruit too and you have your motivation for the day! When you're revising its hard to keep going if you have nothing to work towards, If you think of those delicious items waiting for you downstairs it will give you the motivation to carry on till your break, then go downstairs and grab anything from your goody bag and enjoy!

5) Take a break: Some people like to carry on until the end of the day with no breaks in between, that's fine if you learn like that but personally I feel it is really bad for you if you coop yourself up in your room all day, I recommend taking a good break every now; perhaps time how long you revise for ( 30-45 mins) then take a 5 minute break after and grab a snack or a drink.

6) Go out and enjoy yourself: If you have been revising non-stop for 4 days it feels like a pain when you're come back to the same place , you start going crazy! Don't feel guilty as long as you have worked hard there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to take a few hours off, you've earned it! String a couple of friends together round yours, order some pizza and drinks, watch a couple of movies and relaxed; trust me its well deserved!

7) Plan in advance: I'm a very organised person, so when it comes to revision I often plan out the subjects I'm going to learn, its good to known what you have got for the day and allows you to prepare in advance. Make a timetable, colour it in a make it stand out! Not only will it look nice but it will be very helpful through out the day.

Extra beauty tips:

Even though we often don't want to add any extra things into our routine (all we want to think about is work, work, work when in revision mode) I think its always good to make yourself feel pretty and to feel good. Firstly when you wakeup I always feel so much better after washing my face, I just use the simple's moisturising face wash with a cotton pad and that freshens me up and makes me feel ready for the day! During one of your breaks, apply a face mask (make sure to do one that only takes 5 minutes and not 15!) wash it off after eating/drinking and your face feels light and rejuvenated! Lastly make sure to run yourself a bath, I always feel less stressed after having a nice warm bubble bath. Make yourself a drink, light some candles - sorted!

Good luck in any exams you may have and work hard

My nail colour obsessions

Every girl has their own obsession, from an item of clothing to a love for lipsticks, so I thought it was about time I confessed mine, I am in LOVE with Nail varnishes not just any type though, But the famous Barry M. Ill give you 5 reasons why I love this brand so much...

1) They are very easy to get hold of, found in most drug stores
2) They are very affordable, from £2.99-£3.99
3) They have such a nice range of colours/nail effects/glitters and high shine colours (otherwise known as Gelly nails)
4) They last longer than most nail varnishes (they don't chip or peel off as quickly as some would)
5) They always have amazing offers, such as the 3 for 2

However, I was never really very adventurous with my nail colours sticking to 3 colours that were my 'go-to shades these three shades were Mushroom, Papaya and berry ice-cream. But for Christmas I was given about 6 Barry M polishes which were a range of block colours to shimmers and glitters, I was truly madly deeply in love with them but I knew that I had to step out of my comfort zone and try some new shades because these definitely could not go to waste! So guess what? I did and ended up LOVING them! So I say don't be afraid to try new things because you never know, you might end up loving them like I did!

Thankyou for reading, sorry for the VERY late upload but I have been a busy bee

love and kisses, Aimee x
